Organized by Selrahco PR and Primetime Plan Bravo, the Philippine Sports Tourism Awards, now in its 3rd year, sought to recognize and celebrate the movers and shakers of sports as a major pillar of Philippine tourism. Different institutions which were awarded the prestigious PSTA trophies varied from governments, private companies, venues, conventions, and more. A total of 14 awards were presented in the Grand Bar & Lounge of Resorts World Manila, Pasay City. Davao City Tourism Officer Generose Tecson along with Sunrise Events Inc. GM Princess Galura received the award.

Highlighting the LGUs thrust in tourism last 2018 despite the dire aftermath of the Marawi siege, the 70.3 Ironman underpinned Mindanao as a safe and happy place for sports and tourism. Notwithstanding the apprehensions, slots filled the same day they opened and the event garnered local and international triathletes to the undeniable charm of Davao City.
