Borussia Dortmund Football Camp Wraps Up in Cebu with Great Success

Borussia Dortmund (BVB), the esteemed German Bundesliga club, concludes its highly successful five-day football camp in Cebu. Held from June 19 to June 23, 2023, at the prestigious Dynamic Herb Sports Complex, the camp provided aspiring young footballers with an extraordinary opportunity to train under the expert guidance of two accomplished German coaches from the BVB Football Academy – Volkan Ozkan and Niklas Flechsig.

Volkan Ozkan and Niklas Flechsig, renowned UEFA-accredited professionals, shared their extensive experience and unwavering passion for the game with the enthusiastic participants in Cebu. The young footballers, aged 6 to 18, had the privilege of refining their skills and deepening their understanding of tactics while fostering teamwork, all under the guidance of these exceptional coaches.

Niklas Flechsig, with over 12 years of coaching experience across various youth departments, left a lasting impact at esteemed organizations such as Brüser Berg, Bonner SC, Fubballverband Mitterhein, Jinghai Primary School, and Tianjin High School, both in Germany and abroad. In 2020, Niklas joined BVB as a coach at the BB Evonik Football Academy, solidifying his commitment to nurturing young talents.

Volkan Ozkan, a seasoned coach with over 15 years of experience, made significant contributions to the youth departments of Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt International Football Academies. In 2020, he became an integral part of BVB as a coordinator for the soccer department and a coach at the German School Shanghai, further elevating his exceptional coaching abilities.

The BVB Football Camp in Cebu catered to two age groups: 6 to 12 years old and 13 to 18 years old. Throughout the camp, participants were exposed to a comprehensive training program designed to enhance their skills, tactical acumen, and teamwork, all delivered with the expertise and professionalism of the BVB coaching staff.

Summit Galleria Cebu also showed its’ full commitment to supporting sports and nurturing young talent by hosting Borussia Dortmund Coaches to Cebu. With the dream to aspire and inspire, they became part of elevating the footballing skills of the participants but also inspired them to dream big.
