The 2nd Philippine Sports Tourism Awards at Savoy Hotel Manila
The sports tourism scene in the country has seen a remarkable development with the presence of the Philippine Sports Tourism Awards (PSTA). This prestigious event shows full acknowledgment of exceptional efforts made by industry players and gives due recognition to events, destinations, venues, local governments, sports associations, event organizers, and private companies that have played a significant part in the rapid growth of the local sports tourism industry.
Since its inception in 2015, the PSTA serves as a steady and formidable alliance of sports tourism stakeholders in the sports cities hubs. The awards have 15 categories: Destination of the Year, Organizer of the Year (LGU), Organizer of the Year (Private), Event of the Year (Domestic), Event of the Year (International), Destination Marketing of the Year, NSA of the Year, Hotel of the Year, Event Sponsorship of the Year, Airline of the Year, Charity Event of the Year, Tour Operator of the Year, Sports Venue of the Year, Sports MICE event of the Year, and Media Coverage of Year. Previous awardees include Sunrise Events Ironman Group, Philippine Airlines and Resorts World Manila.
Presented by Selrahco Management and supported by the Department of Tourism, the Philippine Sports Commission, and PAGCOR, the Philippine Sports Tourism Awards is seen as an opportunity to further strengthen the country’s tourism promotion and to push the Philippines as a top sports tourism destination together with the dedication of its stakeholders and the help of local players through various events and activities.
The PSTA has found the synergy in sports and tourism through its combined efforts, which is slowly leading the Philippines to reaching new heights of sporting glory while bringing the country closer to making it a destination for major sporting events.
