6th Sports Tourism Awards

The 6th Philippine Sports Tourism Awards (PSTA), hosted for the first time in Cebu, was held at NUSTAR Resort Cebu, marking a significant milestone for the event traditionally held in Manila or Clark. Organized by SELRAHCO, Sports Turismo Alliance, PAGCOR, and NUSTAR Resort Cebu, the PSTA honors individuals, organizations, and destinations that contribute to the sports tourism industry.

The event recognized outstanding achievements across 19 categories. Clark Freeport Zone was inducted into the Hall of Fame for its consistent excellence in hosting premier events. Other winners included Tour de Cebu as Adventure Event of the Year, William “Butch” Ramirez as Sports Tourism Personality, and the MILO Marathon as Domestic Event of the Year. Subic Bay Freeport was awarded Destination of the Year, while Dumaguete City was named Emerging Destination.

Ms. Marga M. Nograles, COO of the Tourism Promotions Board, was among the distinguished attendees, underscoring the government’s dedication to promoting sports tourism. The event also spotlighted The Bellevue Resort – Bohol as Hotel of the Year and SM Mall of Asia Arena as Venue of the Year. The City of Manila’s Rock n’ Roll Running Series earned Destination Marketing of the Year, and the FIBA Congress 2023 was recognized as MICE Event of the Year. Robinsons Malls won Mall Sports Venue of the Year, while Go for Gold was named Charity Event of the Year. Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas was honored as Sports Association of the Year, and Cebu Pacific received Airline of the Year.
